Andrew and I have been very busy these last few weeks, as I am sure all of our clients and all the other people getting married this summer are. The busiest part is organizing everything for the beginning of wedding season so that it will be smooth sailing throughout the summer. For us it’s almost like getting ready for Christmas except a much longer season. Also, it is very much like waiting for Christmas morning. We are very excited to get the ball rolling and into the full swing of the season.
Andrew and I both very much love being apart of such a special day in peoples lives. This season we have the opportunity to photograph in many places that we have never photographed before and this even adds more to the excitement. Don’t worry we should still be able to sleep with all this excitement! Hopefully, anyways.
A few tips for you planning that wonderful wedding to make sure your day is smooth sailing
1. Add a 10-15 min buffer into your ceremony. Tell your guests the ceremony starts at 4:00 but have it really start at 4:15.
2. Drive the route from church to reception, add ten minutes. How long does it take? Will there be added traffic, construction on the weekend of your big day?
3. Worried everything is not going to go as planned? Don’t stress about it. Why not look in to having a day of coordinator to make it flow as planned and you won’t have to worry.
4. Planning can be stressful make sure you have a night off for the two of you to unwind and not talk about anything wedding.
5. Plan at least a hour and a half for your photographers to photograph between the ceremony and reception. Also, think about your guests during this time what will they be doing? Best is to suggest things for guests to do. Having a cottage wedding, why not have a card tournament or horseshoes. Maybe a magician, ice carver or entertainer or perhaps just a break for everyone to get ready for a great evening. Just don’t leave them in the dark about what is going on.
6. Remember at the end of it all no one will know that the flowers were supposed to be red not pink, that the cake was late or anything else that could possibly be a little off. It does not matter, you will be married to the one you love the most!
To all of our clients we can’t wait to see what you have in store for us! See you really soon. To anyone else getting married this summer, we wish you all the best in Life and Marriage.
Oh and yes, we are ready!
Happy Planning,
Kate & Andrew
